Stäubli expands Bangalore facility, strengthens India’s solar PV connectors

Stäubli has announced a $10 million expansion of its manufacturing facility in Bangalore, India, aimed at increasing production capacity for solar photovoltaic (PV) connectors and strengthening local supply chains for the rapidly growing solar market.

The expanded site will focus on the production of MC4-Evo1 and MC4-Evo2 connectors, which are critical components for connecting solar modules to inverters and balance-of-system equipment. New automated assembly lines and enhanced quality assurance systems are being installed to support higher output volumes while maintaining consistent electrical and mechanical performance.

By scaling local manufacturing, Stäubli addresses increasing demand from India’s expanding solar sector, where large-scale PV deployment requires reliable, standardized interconnection components. The additional capacity is expected to reduce lead times, improve supply chain resilience, and support OEMs, EPC contractors, and asset owners with locally manufactured connectors that meet global certification and performance requirements.

The facility integrates energy-efficient manufacturing processes and operates as a zero-discharge site, aligning production with environmental compliance expectations. Beyond volume growth, the expansion also supports local application engineering and product development, enabling faster adaptation of connector solutions to regional installation practices while maintaining global design standards.

The Bangalore plant will serve both domestic and international markets and includes a local vendor development initiative to strengthen backward integration within India’s renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem. Production at the expanded facility is scheduled to commence in January 2026, reinforcing Stäubli’s role in supporting large-scale solar PV deployment through industrialized, high-quality connector manufacturing.
