ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has strengthened its value-added steel portfolio with the launch of AM/NS Vibrance and AM/NS Optima, two premium branded coated steel solutions designed for increasingly design-driven and precision-focused OEM applications. The move aligns with the company’s ambition to generate 75% of its revenue from value-added products as demand accelerates across appliance and industrial manufacturing sectors.
India’s coated steel demand currently stands at 11.1 million tonnes and is projected to grow at 8–10% CAGR in the coming years. Within the appliance segment, coated steel consumption is rising at approximately 10% annually, driven by premiumisation, urbanisation, and policy initiatives such as the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme. Industrial coated steel demand is expected to expand at 8–12% CAGR through 2030, supported by automotive, electronics, and engineering growth.
By expanding its branded portfolio—alongside existing offerings such as Optigal® and Magnelis®—AM/NS India aims to reduce import dependence and provide internationally benchmarked quality within India, supporting the country’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision.
AM/NS Vibrance: Premium colour-coated steel
AM/NS Vibrance is engineered for appliance OEMs requiring consistent surface quality, precise colour control, refined finishes, and reliable manufacturability. Built on precision-engineered substrates and advanced coating technology, the solution delivers aesthetic consistency and durability across fabrication and end-use applications. It is suited for refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, water dispensers, and other visible consumer appliances.
AM/NS Optima: True Zero-Spangle galvanised steel
AM/NS Optima is positioned as one of India’s premium True Zero-Spangle galvanised steel offerings, delivering enhanced surface uniformity and tighter process control compared with conventional galvanised steel. Designed for predictable bending performance and visually consistent finishes, it supports demanding applications such as air-conditioning outdoor units, panels, and cleanroom installations.
According to the company, the expansion of its value-added portfolio strengthens its position as a solution-driven steel provider, enabling OEMs to access high-performance materials domestically while enhancing productivity, design flexibility, and global competitiveness.
