Siemens announced the launch of MACHINUM, a groundbreaking digitalization portfolio designed to accelerate the speed, agility, and endurance of the Indian machine tool industry, at IMTEX 2025.
With the increased investment in India by high-end manufacturing units serving local and export markets, the Indian machine tool market is undergoing a significant digital transformation, driven by the adoption of advanced technologies to support this growth. The demand for sophisticated machine tools is fueled by the need for high precision, customization, and the integration of technology into manufacturing processes.
MACHINUM is an integral part of Siemens Xcelerator, the open digital business platform that includes a portfolio of software and IoT-enabled hardware, an ecosystem of partners, and a marketplace. With MACHINUM, companies in the machine tool industry can make digital transformation easier, faster, and scalable in both manufacturing and design.

Siemens will also showcase the upgraded 5th generation SINUMERIK 828D, paving the way for SINUMERIK Run MyVirtual Machine. This innovative feature allows NC programs to be created, validated, and optimized using a digital twin of the machine without interrupting production, reducing setup time on the real machine by up to 20% and minimizing production risks. With cutting-edge features like Digital Twin readiness, effortless HMI customization, and 40% faster program buffering, it streamlines operations and improves efficiency. The high-resolution display ensures clear operator visibility, while robust cybersecurity, including IEC 62443 compliance, safeguards systems from threats.
